PERDANANEWS.com. Analyzing Sixers Trade for Danny Green. Al Horford signed a four-year contract for $97 million guaranteed last offseason, but his stint with the Sixers will last just one year.
For the second time in a week, former UNC Basketball standout Danny Green is on the move and has a new home.
The team is trading Horford to the Oklahoma City Thunder, a source confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia. Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who first reported the trade, the Sixers are receiving Terrance Ferguson and Danny Green, while Oklahoma City is receiving a lightly-protected 2025 first-round pick, the 34th pick in Wednesday night’s draft and the rights to Vasilije Micic.
After being traded from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City earlier in the week, Green is now part of another deal on draft day. Just hours ahead of the 2021 NBA Draft on Wednesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a deal to acquire Green.
Oklahoma City is trading Green to Philadelphia for center Al Horford and a second-round pick in Wednesday’s draft. That means Green will be on his fourth team in three seasons when the new league starts in December:
Green left Toronto after the 2018-19 championship season to join the Los Angeles Lakers. He won his second-straight title as the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in the Orlando bubble to capture the title for this past season.
Going into his 12th season, Green is hoping to prove once again he’s an elite three-point shooter and one of the best in the game. He is shooting 40 percent from the three-point line in his career so far, including 37 percent with the Lakers last year. Analyzing Sixers Danny Green
The forward has made a living at the three-point line but is also a solid defender. He joins a Philadelphia team that appears to be trying to rebuild on the fly around both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. The 76ers may not be done yet either on draft night as they could be looking to add another star player to the mix.
